Senior Procurement Buyer

Position Description:
 

Oversee entire procurement process from new source selection to contract implementation. Vendor management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) data maintenance, data analysis, and cost reduction project execution are main functions of the role. You will source a variety of parts and commodities consumed in our Data Center business segment. You will support all Data Center plants – Grenada, MS, TMG – TX and Rockbridge, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Requests for Information (RFI's) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ's) for new product programs and other sourcing plans

  • Manage ERP pricing updates

  • Support plant material and quality escalations

  • Analyze spend data

  • Lead supplier negotiations (price, schedules and terms and conditions)

  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with implementation of sourcing strategies

  • Work cooperatively with our Supplier Quality Engineering, Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering departments to assess the quality capabilities of all suppliers to ensure that all product/material purchases meet defined quality standards

  • Build relationships with suppliers and measure suppliers performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service level

  • Partner with our operations and engineering to evaluate several cost reduction plans

  • Develop vendor score card

  • Track, measure and work to improve all Procurement KPI

  • Assist with integrating new acquisitions

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years Materials Control and / or Buyer experience working with MRP. Experience with SAP is beneficial.

  • Capable MS Office suite user with MS Excel abilities

  • Use Excel and Microsoft suite to create formulas and pivot tables to analyze large amounts of data

  • Use a VAVE methodology to identify main cost drivers and create ideas to improve quality and reduce cost

  • Experience with contracts and pricing negotiation; Supplier management required

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting or other technical field
